Unexpected Trip and Racing!

Posted on 20th May, 2019

A few weeks ago Andrew got asked about an unexpected trip to one of his favourite tracks...JEREZ. Of course he said yes and with only a few short days to get everything ready the road trip down south to drop off the bike, began. With the rest of the team unable to get time off work it was a solo rider trip with the great help of Mum T! Andrew enjoyed a brilliant 3 days on track underneath the blazing sun of Spain. Andrew had 1 small crash during one of his sessions but both him and the bike are okay.

Andrew and Mum T got home from Spain on Thursday 16th May and didn't have long to rest as the team were racing at East Fortune on Saturday 18th May. Paw T chose to race the Mille this weekend, Andrew also had his Mille as the zx10rr was not yet back from its travels and Sammi had her bright pink Suzuki. The aim of the weekend was for Andrew and Sammi to get signatures which allows them to keep their race licenses as without them they can not do track days unless you have a road license. Paw T already has his road license but couldn't miss out on the fun!

Sammi was first out for combined practice and qualifying but with the session being cut short due to a red flag Sammi only got 3 laps in total and without a preferred lap time this put her to near the back of the grid. Paw T and Andrew's turn next and Andrew put himself 2nd on the grid and Paw T 6th out of the Thunder Bikes as it was a mixed class. All 3 riders finished their races and it was mission accomplished.

Next up is a training night at Knockhill on Tuesday 21st May.

We would like to say a huge thanks to our amazing sponsors Motorcycle Law Scotland and Wheels Around for their continued support!

Also a big thanks to Redline Trackdays for always keeping us in mind and running fantastic track days and Toutes Directions for getting our bikes there and back safely.

Bike Show

Posted on 18th March, 2019

We had a brilliant weekend at the bike show with one of our great sponsors Motorcycle Law Scotland (click on our links tab to check them out)

It was great to catch up with old friends and make lots of new friends.

The team cant wait for their next trips to Brno and Assen!

Almeria/Andalucia

Posted on 18th March, 2019

After scoping out the tracks on our last trip at Cartagena it was decided the team would love a go at Almeria AND Andalucia on the same visit.

In true Tasker style there was no hesitation to get our next adventure booked and with only 17 days to get the bikes ready and our bags packed we accepted the challenge and started counting down the days to the first trip of 2019.

Unfortunately Sammi and Max were unable to make the trip this time. It was not the same without the pink pocket rocket riding around but 2019 has more trips in store that will bring the whole team together!

The 1st of March arrived and so did some of the team into Malaga airport to collect our car and get on the road to Almeria. Andrew and Paw T both had their zx10's to enjoy their 2 days on track under the sun! With no time to be wasted we headed straight for the track to unpack and get the bikes sorted for the madness to begin on Saturday morning.

Paw T took to the track first and loved every minute of Almeria, Andrew decided to really make the most of it and do 9 sessions per day! This meant he finished a 20 minute session on one track, drove over the paddock and straight back out onto another, after lunch each day a 3rd track was opened which was Almeria and Andalucia combined 'Circuit De Espana' this track was 9km long and took almost 4 minutes to complete 1 lap.

Paw T had an off during a session on Almeria but thanks to his Helite Air Vest he escaped with only a bruised elbow. See our links tab to check out the website for these incredible vests!

Cartagena

Posted on 18th March, 2019

This trip started with a pit stop at Valencia for the last round of the 2018 Moto GP.

We flew to Spain on Thursday 15th November and spent the weekend in Valencia enjoying the practicing, qualifying and incredible racing, we took a little bit of Scotland with us as it was pouring down the whole time but we enjoyed ourselves!

After the last race of the day and the year on Sunday we hit the road for the 3 hour journey to Cartagena with Redline Trackdays for Paw T, Andrew and Sammi to enjoy their own track time. Unfotunately the rain continued in Cartagena but that didnt stop us! Sammi only had one day on track due to work committments so she made the most of it and had a play on big bros Mille and a Honda cb600 hire bike. Paw T also had Andrews RSV Mille for the track day and Andrew has his zx10rr to play on.

Andrew and Paw T had an extra 2 days on track and after a soggy start the sun made an appearance and they enjoyed their last few sessions before heading home.

Although the track time at Cartagena came to an end Andrew, Paw T and Mum decided what better way to decide where we are going next than driving 100 miles to Almeria to watch some more bikes and scope out the tracks!

Brno

Posted on 2nd September, 2018

The Team took a trip to Brno Race Circuit with Redline trackdays. What an amazing experience. All our five riders took to the track on Friday morning in beautiful sunshine and what a track it is. All practice sessions are timed to ensure safety & also to establish the grid positions for the weekends racing. Saturday saw Sammi qualify in 45th in the ladies cup & the x2 New Generation race. After a typical "Sammi " start she finished the race in 10th overall and 4th lady over the line ( second 600 to finish on her stock GSXR 600). Her fastest time of the weekend was 2.20.8 - 15 seconds quicker than her first track session.

Andrew took part in a 2 hour three rider endurance race, with a Le Mans style start. The team consisted off Andrew, Oliver & Tom Harrison, What an absolute blast it was. The pit crew were awesome, slick transponder change overs and since we didn't have our pit board we used plastic tub lids with duct tape writing to communicate with the riders on track.... The team were climbing back up the leader board when a safety car came into play following an incident on track and with 25 minutes to go the team were 7th. As safety is paramount the red flag was displayed with 20 minutes to go and the team finished an impressive 7th overall and 1st British team over the line.

Sunday saw the X2 Generation race with Paw T qualifying 20th on the Stuart Young Tuning 2011 ZX10, Colin qualified 32nd & Gaz was 37th. Paw T hadn't managed to complete more than 4 laps so was not looking forward to a sighting lap, warm up lap then a 7 lap race. He finished in a very respectable 23rd place with Colin in 28th. Lap times had improved dramatically. Gaz had to retire due to a technical issue.

This just left Andrew to race in the Superbike 1 class. Andrew qualified 18th and by the end of lap 1 was up to 4th. After a hard 9 laps he finished 5th overall with a new PB of the weekend of 2.09.370 on his Motorcycle Law Scotland ZX10R Fellow Redline team mate Olly finished a fantastic 3rd.

Toutes Directions superb services as always with great friendly drivers, Pick up & delivery of bikes without a hitch thank you

Thanks to Dean Redline trackdays for a fantastic event, superb from start to finish, we got to catch up with our great friends from Red Zone Racing which was great.

Also Thanks to
Motorcycle Law Scotland, & Wheels Around for their continued support.

We will be back out racing at East Fortune next Month.
Thanks to Erin Barr for the pictures

Racing!

Posted on 17th May, 2018

Paw T was a single rider at East Fortune with Andrew, Sammi and the rest of the team playing the role of pitcrew!

Peter qualified in the top 20 for the Sound of Thunder class on Saturday with the sun shining...for once! His first race of the day was the Novice race and #797 brought it home in 4th place!Next up was the first SOT race on the RSV, Peter was sitting comfortable in 17th place but unfortunately with less than half a lap to go another rider overshot the corner causing him to crash out of the race.

The bike and Peter are both fine :-)

Deciding to call it a day the team headed back home and are now getting the bikes ready for the SACU training night on Tuesday 22nd May 1700-2000.Both Andrew and Sammi along with a few fellow racers will be there as trainers for the evening.

As always we thank everyone for their support and would like to wish all other fallers a speedy recovery!

Croft

Posted on 15th April, 2018

The Team started of the year with a practice weekend at East Fortune, both Andrew and Sammi were helping out the new comers on Saturday along with a few of their fellow racers. It was great to see so many new faces and know that the racing community is still growing with a brilliant range of ages!

The next stop was Falkirk to see off all of the riders doing the Easter Run with Carron Valley Motorcycle Club for CHAS.It was a brilliant turn out for an amazing charity!

Last but not least was Croft -

The team had a great start on Saturday, Andrew qualified 3rd for the Open Unlimited and 1st for Sound of Thunder.Sammi qualified 24th also in the Open Unlimited and Paw T took to the grid in the Sound of Thunder class in 14th!

The rain started to pour in perfect time for the racing but as always the team done amazing - Andrew came home with two 1st place finishes in both classes, Sammi finished in 20th place holding her own amongst the big bikes and Paw T stayed in 14th place for his first race at Croft (IN THE WET!!)

Sunday the sun was shining upon us as the races got underway- Andrew took 3rd place in the Open and unfortunately crashed out of 2nd place in Sound of Thunder and decided to call it a day.Sammi had another two brilliant finishes along with Paw T.

Andrew and bike are both fine after his off and the team are looking forward to Brno in July!
